Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk

A Radio. So here we are at last. It might not seem like it, but this is, ladies and

gentlemen, Freedom Day. That's right. It's June the 21st. The day that we were told we could,

in the words of Matt Hancock or Mr. Effing useless, we could cry freedom. The day that we

could throw off the shackles of lockdown,

no more masks, no more social distancing.

And of course, as you all know, it's already happening, isn't it?

Did anybody see the game in Hungary over the weekend?

Lots of people at that, apparently, not a problem at all.

Just look at Royal Ascot at the weekend

and the hordes who were singing and dancing and carousing as only people who go to Royal Ascot can.

Now, a lot of people over the weekend were saying, yeah, but they're all tofts, they're allowed.

Have you ever been to Royal Alaska on a Saturday?

It is not full of toffs. I can tell you that.

It is full of people having a very good time.

And I'm very happy that they are. You will hear nothing from me about dangerous behaviour. You will hear nothing from me about people being cautious and people

being reckless. No, all you will hear from me is that this is the day that we were told was

going to be the day that all restrictions were going to be lifted. I don't see why they haven't

been and neither do an awful lot of other people. How about the thousands of Scotland fans that descended on London on Thursday and Friday of last week and hung around until Saturday as well?

It seems to be much social distancing going on there. It seems to be much mask wearing going on there.
