It's 1990 at the Bay Area Headquarters of Steve Jobs' Computer Company next.

Pixar President and co-founder Ed Catton opens the building's front door and steps inside the lavish corporate workplace.

Behind him is Pixar's vice president and fellow co-founder, Avi Ray Smith.

Together they walk up the building's floating staircase and head to a conference room to meet Steve Jobs for a Pixar board meeting.

When they open the door to the conference room, they find Steve already waiting for them at the head of the table, a frown on his face and a whiteboard next to him,

already bearing a list of Steve's concerns with Pixar.

Ed and Avi barely get in a word before Steve kicks off the meeting by firing off questions.

Well, where are we with circuit boards? What's going on over there? We're way behind schedule.

Ed tries to answer Steve's question, but Avi beats him to it.

Well, you're one to talk, Steve. You're also late on one of your boards. What are you talking about?

Well, word on the street is next is later with its boards than we are with ours. So please at least remember you live in a glass house before you cast stones.

Before Ed can try to diffuse the situation, Avi and Steve are in each other's faces, yelling at each other from three inches away.

What happens at next is none of your business. It is my business if you're holding us to standards you can't even uphold yourself. You've got some nerve.

Ease off, Steve. We're doing the best we can. We're already working on stop. Relax and be patient. You'll get boards when you get them.

Oh, I'll get boards when I get them, huh? You're a master at scheduling. Just a genius.

Ed holds his breath as Avi falls silent. For a moment, he expects Avi to storm out of the room, but Avi does something else.

He moves toward the whiteboard and picks up a marker. Ed can barely believe it. Steve is infamous for being possessive over the whiteboard in meetings.

It's an unwritten rule that no one but Steve is allowed to take control of it. So Ed watches amazed.

As Avi defiantly draws a single line, a symbolic line in the sand. In response, Steve erupts.

You can't do that. What? I can't write on your whiteboard? Bull.

Ed tries to cut into the argument but it's too late. Steve storms out of the room, slamming the door on his way out.
