I don't think Angel City is going to stop being kind of a tightrope team for a while.

But I do think they're going to make it.

I think Angel City is going to be a playoff team in 2025.

But I don't think that they're going to be throwing away their principles anytime soon.

Hello, everybody, and welcome to this week's edition of The Late Sub.

I am your host, Claire Watkins.

It is Wednesday, April 16th.

And we are diving into what I believe to be one of the most dynamic storylines of the early

NWSL season, Angel City.

They're undefeated.

We're seeing some separation at the top and the bottom of the table here in the NWSL.

And this is the one team that I think has people raising their eyebrows a little bit.

So let's dig into where they've been, what they're doing, and why I think that this

could be a year where they actually make a bit of a postseason run.

Let's dig in.

So the NWSL returned this past weekend from the international break.

We're now four match weekends in, which I actually think is a pretty good sample size to see how things are going. I've said this a lot. There are sort of these segments of the NWS season, right? There's that first third. There's, you have the big international break in the summer, which they'll do again this year for the euros and other major international tournaments across the world.

Then you kind of have the home stretch in the fall moving into playoffs.

But I do think four games, pretty good sense of what's going on, which leads us to our major

topic of today, maybe just kind of to drop us, parachute us into where the NWSL is at.

We are seeing similar separation at the top of the table versus the bottom of the table

that we saw last year.
