We do now know, and we'll start there, actually, Andy Robertson will be leaving the football club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

We can do this in many ways, actually, we can sort of pay tribute to Andy Robiton, the football and human being.

I think sort of that all applies and he's certainly worthy of it.

I think it speaks volumes of him, the human being, actually, just some of the things that we've seen said about him in the last 15, 16 hours, whatever it's been since that announcement was made. But yeah, I think we all, and we've spoken a lot, obviously, on this show about this being a possibility, but still, when it's then confirmed and you see it and it is the reality you

can't help but feel like oh that's a shame he's been brilliant yeah no it is it's a shame and

he's still got a lot to give you know he's only just turned 32 hasn't he last month so still feel

as though he could really have played a part in helping liverpool get back to to former glories

if he like next season but he has you know contractors up and

now he's on the move and it sort of felt that that was the way the direction was traveling as soon

to Tottenham made their interest known and it wasn't immediately shut down you know there were

discussions over that between player and club and you know there was a sort of a belief on Liverpool side, or a feeling on Liverpool side that they were, you know, open to whatever the player wanted to do based on his service to the club, which wouldn't necessarily happen with every player. So, yeah, he ended up staying. I think there was maybe an injury to Joe Gomez, which forced the change in her thinking there. But as soon as it became an option, you started thinking that maybe he wouldn't be staying beyond the end of the season. And yeah, one of the things that he said, or pretty much the only thing really in his statement, wasn't it, on his social media's, was that May will be the time to reflect on what it has been an unbelievable career. I think now he just sort of wants to make it known that he is walking away

and the time to sort of look back on his achievements at Liverpool will come

at the end of the season.

I think Mo Salas said something similar than he a couple of weeks back,

but yeah, it's this idea that there's the end of an era coming.

Obviously, Eugen walks away two years ago and we're going to have Mo Salah walking away now and Andy Robertson. And, you know, I think it's only Alison Becker and Virgil Van Dyke now, isn't it, from the team that won the Champions League and Joe Gomez, yeah. But in terms of, you know, going to be at the club for next season. So, yeah, it's a shame, really, but, you know, we deserve to go out on his terms and what an unbelievable player and person he's been, really, for the football club since he joined, what was it, 2017? Absolutely. And one of the upsides of all of this is we can have conversations like we're having here like

ones I've had earlier on today and and again obviously starting tomorrow and field and

beyond for the main disease and we get to celebrate and appreciate Andy Robertson for

everything that he's given us which has been an incredible amount and again I think

he's carrying himself exceptionally well through good and bad times.

And, you know, the worst possible of times imaginable was definitely last summer.

And how he handled himself for all of that and continues to do so has been just nothing short of exemplary, to be honest.
