their districts as opposed to at least pretending to want to solve the government shutdown.

So this shut down, Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the Congress.

Now, they shut down the government because Democrats would not sign off on what was happening with the Obamacare subsidies, which, of course, obviously, I think they were right to do because the polling shows that people still blame the Republicans.
