Go almost to pull this off. Texas man has been arrested after police say he stole nearly

$770,000 worth of Tiffany jewelry in Florida. Now, we brought you the story back in February,

but according to the Orlando Police Department, 32-year-old Jathan Gilder, he strolled into the

Tiffany & Company store at Orlando's Mall at Millennium, informed staff that he was a rep for the Orlando

Magic Basketball team. And they believed them. And a specific player. Now, the warrant notes that after

announcing his supposed link to the NBA, Gilder was then taken to a VIP room where he was shown

two pairs of diamond earrings worth $160,000, $609,000, and a 5.6-carat diamond ring worth about $600,000.

Now, this is when things get wild.

Authorities say that Gilder suddenly swiped the three jewelry pieces.

Struggling with staffers before finally fleeing.

He dropped the ring in the process, but surveillance cameras helped police ID

the car that they say that Gilder hopped into.

And they tracked him down later that evening, driving on I-10 in Tallahassee, about 300

miles or so away from Orlando.

Damn.

Taking the fastest route back to the Lone Star State.

They noted that Gilder is a resident of Houston, and they say that they did not find the

jewelry in Gilder's vehicle.

Because as he was being taken into custody, Gilder swallowed the items.

Damn.

A scan taken of him at the jail found foreign objects in his stomach,

which authorities suspect was all of the stolen bling.
