Why did you and Jen decide to write the book?

Yeah, you know, so I think this is a very personal topic for both of us.

Both Jen and myself are sensitive people. And we,

at least for myself, for a lot of my life, I did not realize that. So as a child, of course,

I was always a sensitive kid. I didn't use that word about myself. As a boy, I don't think I'd

like that word about myself. But I remember in kindergarten, I did fine in class.

You know, it was quiet classroom. You're focused on specific things. But then when I get out to

recess, suddenly there are, you know, hundreds of kids running everywhere. Kids are screaming,

laughing, playing, fighting. There's just so much going on. I would get overstimulated.

And I didn't realize why.

I didn't even know that I was overstimulated.

I just knew I kind of couldn't handle this loud, chaotic playground.
