So when I met this man at an award ceremony at Hunter College where he was being awarded here, along with his co-author, James E. Causey, I invited him to Sirius XM to have a conversation because I wanted everyone to hear this story. Now I want you to hear the story. This is Andre Lee Ellis, who took his time and energy to make a difference

in his community and gun violence and just connecting with the young people, because that's how this

works. You don't have to be a special individual, but you have to be a special individual to say

I'm going to do something more. So up next, my conversation with Andre Lee Ellis.

So last night, I hosted an event called the Aronson Awards at Hunter College.

You are hosting the event?

Yeah, you know, that's not my thing.

That's not?

No, it's not.

I don't normally host.

But I was so inspired by the journalists.

We had several of them, had several of them on the show, one who did a piece on MCC,

where Jeffrey Epstein allegedly committed suicide.

She did a whole expose of the conditions there, Aviva Stahl.

She won.

She was one of the winners.
