But before I get to her, I want to talk about the House of Representatives

recent passage of President Biden's $1.9 trillion

dollar American Rescue Plan. In case you missed it. Late Friday

evening the House passed the American Rescue Plan. And this week the Senate

will take up the measure, but one key provision that passed the House

won't be in the Senate version, and that's the minimum wage increase as the Senate parliamentarian

rude last week, that we couldn't pass an increase in the federal minimum wage to $15

using the budget reconciliation process. So what's that mean? That means while

we'll have stimulus checks, expanded child tax credits, unemployment insurance, rental assistance,

and lots of other things we all agree on, a key campaign promise from Democrats in increasing the

minimum wage faces an uncertain future. Democrats need to get this done by hook or by crook.

Back in 2001 when a Senate Republican majority didn't like the parliamentarians ruling

on tax cuts they fired the parliamentarian and pushed forward.

I need the Democrats to act like their majorities are on the line and push past what we all know

was coming from an unelected parliamentarian.
