0:07.7	Our text today is going to be verses 18 through 25.
0:13.0	Pardon me.
0:14.8	And if I might trouble you to stand, if you're able, if not that's all right.

0:31.4	Matthew is writing by the Holy Spirit
0:35.5	and says verse 18
0:38.6	this is how
0:42.9	the birth of Jesus
0:45.9	the Messiah came about
0:47.8	his mother Mary
0:50.6	was pledged to be married to Joseph
0:54.0	but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
1:05.7	Because Joseph, her husband, was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace,
1:18.0	which would have been the custom of the day, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
1:27.0	As far as he's concerned at this point,
1:31.3	his fiance Mary has sinned sexually.
1:38.3	And I'm sure he's devastated,
1:41.0	as we're going to see here shortly.
1:44.8	He does not yet know what's happening here.
1:48.7	He will.
1:50.8	But notice how honorable this man is at this point.
