Today's tip is that an outfit includes your shoes.

Most likely, if you are out in the world, you are wearing shoes, so it's best

to shop and put outfits together with that in mind. In general, if a detail is necessary, it's best to plan for it from the get-go.

Now I realize that my more fashionable listeners are probably wondering why the first part of this is even a tip.

Of course an outfit includes shoes and accessories and so forth.

But perhaps at least a few people are more like me. None of this feels

natural. So I had a problem this spring when the weather got warmer and I was looking to wear my summer flats or

sandals, basically shoes without warm wool socks. But most of my jeans were the length

for wearing with boots.

As a not terribly fashionable person,

I just kept wearing these longer jeans with my flats

and just kind of stomping around on the bottom of the pants all the time, feeling

not terribly put together.
