I think even in Christian culture, we try to make it more complicated than it is, instead of going,

oh, he descended to make a way for us to understand. I love that C.S. Lewis talks about

scripture being God lisping to us. He almost makes his speech patterns less so that we can understand.

He says,

my plan for you is to prosper you,

not to harm you,

to give you purpose and hope,

but we get in the ditch.

And so the law is not,

I'm going to smack you over the head if you break it,

the law is a parameter that gets us to

promise.
