So today we are checking back in on COVID. Everyone is having a really hard time right now,

and for many people that I've spoken to recently, this feels like maybe one of the most frustrating times yet of the pandemic. And now is really a time to regroup, come together,

and talk through things. So to start us out, I'm going to lay out a rough sketch of where we're

at with COVID right now. It's been a few episodes since the three of us had a chance

to sit down and talk about the pandemic together and so much has happened in a really short time.

Yeah. We saw a lot of discourse about breakthrough infections and deaths emerge after our last

big COVID episode on April 25th. It was actually kind of surprising how impactful that episode

was. We had people

doing whole threads, fact-checking our four-minute and 35-second teaser. You know, judging if we

had used data well. Unhelpfully fact-checking, I would say. You know, if we had made a data crime,

and it turns out we passed the fact-check, by the way, we did not commit data crime.

Anyways.

So I was very, very scared about going to social science jail.
