Summary

A young man working as the telegraph operator for a small town loses his fiance to a cold blooded murderer, who is soon tried and sent to jail to await his execution. The telegraph operator soon finds himself receiving a night telegram from the governor ordering a stay of the execution- and takes it upon himself to alter the message to indicate that the hanging will take place as scheduled. 0:39.5	an electrical slip Public opinion had been triumphantly vindicated.
0:46.0	The insanity plea had broken down and Albert Pryor was sentenced to be hanged by the neck until he was dead
0:52.0	and might the Lord have mercy on his soul.
0:55.2	Everybody agreed that it was a righteous verdict, but now that he was sentenced they added,
1:00.2	Poor fellow! Albert Pryor was a young man who had had more of his own way than was good for him.
1:06.0	His own family, father, mother, brother, and sisters had given way to him so much
1:12.0	that he appeared to think the world at large should do the same.
1:16.4	The world differed with him.
1:18.4	Unfortunately, the first to oppose his violent will was a woman, a girl almost. She would have nothing to do with him and
1:26.2	told him so. He stormed, of course, but did not look upon her opposition as serious. No girl in her senses could continue to refuse a

1:39.3	engaged to young Bowen the telegraph operator.

2:00.2	Parker place, where Miss Johnson lived with her aunt, her parents being dead.
