Good morning, everybody. It's Brian. And I just wanted to do a quick follow-up to last night's Real Hawk Talk episode. We talked about a bunch of things, and among them was the National Anthem and some of the protests have gone on and reactions to that. And I want to apologize for what I think was

some emphasis in the wrong areas in my comments.

I believe in what I said,

but I also really have appreciated what I've heard from a number of you

that criticizing the

or even focusing on the substance of the protein, like the type of protest as opposed to

the substance of what it's about isn't really helping. And I think that I'm trying to listen and learn along the way

here I really especially appreciate the folks that have reached out in a positive

and productive and respectful way you know there's a lot of shaming that tends to

go on and in general, especially right now.

And it's much easier to be patronizing and belittling to other people's points of view than it is to try to listen and build and make something productive and build a bridge with that person and a connection that can turn into something more meaningful.

So I just want to be clear that I hear you, I especially like I understand and the examples that have been given about what happened in the 60s and

Martin Luther King's criticism of the white moderate and not being willing to, you know,

that be they're at discomfort with the types of protests.

We're not helpful.

And I'm cognizant of that.

I think those are really fair points.

And really the shame of it is, you know, my underlying message, what I'm trying to get

to is that I think the fact that the protest has been perceived by many to be about the flag,

whether or not that's the intent is distracting from the real issue

that I don't think we're making as much progress on as we should.

And that is that there are citizens in this country that aren't safe as other citizens
