I'm Danny Kelly and joining me today on The View from the Lane of Jay Harris and Jack Pick Brook.

I don't like to talk about transfer windows in terms of what did we achieve

and all the rest of it, because you won't know that somewhat, until the actual game start

happening again. But I think in view of A, Christian Romero's comments, and B, Johann Langer's

video to enlighten us all about what went on during the most recent transfer window.

We have no choice.

And so we'll start there.

Let's start with Romero's comments.

We'll get on to Langers in a second.

Jay, you've already written a piece about it.

So why don't you start?

What do we think about the way Christian has gone about this?

Well, what I said was not greeted warmly on social media. So before I say my opinion on it,

I'm actually intrigued to know what you think. And then I will defend my position.

I've got two opinions. One is about the transfer

window itself, which will come onto, and the other is about Romero having a go about it. And in that

I'm walking a tightrope because I think what he said in the round is largely true and I think it was a really, I say you, judging these things, it was a poor transfer window from four points of view. If you, against what was promised and hinted at, and there's two different things, against what the team needs, against simply the money being invested on the pitch and against PR, that transfer window was somewhere between poor and disastrous.

That's what I think personally. Now, Christian Romero obviously agrees with me

on the long term. Whether he should be saying it as Spurs captain, I don't know. And my big fear is this,

that he is digging the ground and digging a tunnel to get himself out of there in the summer. And as we've seen recently with managers at Manchester United and Chelsea, that if you want to get out of your contract, first thing you've got to do is start having a popper at the people who pay you. And so that's the two things I think. I think he's right. But I also think that there may be something more sinister just the captain standing up for the club.
