Hi everyone, it's 4 o'clock in New York on the Monday and there is brand new blockbuster

reporting that reveals that in the wake of the 2020 election Fox News found itself trapped

in a confine entirely of its own making.

It could tell the truth to its viewers as all news networks even Fox aspired to do and

are structurally staffed and prepared to do with election decision deaths and predictive

models to call races accurately.

Or behind curtain number two, Fox News could cave to the lies and conspiracies being told

by the man they had almost completely synced up with so closely aligned with for years

by that point, the disgraced ex-president.

Taking that path would mean that Fox News would shield its millions of viewers from the

sophisticated and expensive data driven results produced by its own pretty competent election

desk.

But importantly, Fox News realized at the highest levels of that company that it could

not do both.

According to brand new reporting in the New York Times, Fox News's decision to project

Arizona for Joe Biden on election night, it's a call that they were able to make ahead

of other networks, it's a call that they got right ahead of other networks spurred an emergency

crisis management meeting.

The Times, which reviewed a recording from that crisis meeting, reports this, quote,

typically it is a point of pride for a news network to be the first to project election

winners.

But Fox is no typical news network.
