Hello from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast. Today we're going

to do something that we haven't done in a while. Just talk about it. We've got special

election, presidential polling, new polling for the battle for the Senate. Fun raising

season plus there are questions about conventions, virtual and in person. And we've got the

kinds of campaign stories that we came to expect after 2016. Michael Flynn to our read

in the slow rolling beef steaks competition. I guess today are Amy Walter. She's of course

national editor of the Cook Political Report and Steve Kornacki and BC News National

Political Corp. But you know I'm as the man at the big board. And later in the show, we

joined by Howard University president Dr. Wayne AI Frederick to talk about how the pandemic

has impacted communities differently and what to expect from higher education and then

some. But first Amy and Steve and welcome back to the Todd cast. So is it okay to talk

politics? I guess we politicized this thing enough at this point, right? I mean what would

you say politics took a break Kornacki? In some ways in I think in official ways, you know

we had primaries canceled. We are primaries moved. You know, so I think that level of it

changed. But I think it's impossible to look at to experience this sort of atmosphere that

we have coming out of Washington, coming out of elected officials and not see politics

as part of it. So I think it's there. I think it's unavoidable. I think it's part of life

even during a pandemic. But certainly it looks and feels a lot different. You know I'm

a messaging. I'm convinced that if this was an election year, at least everybody other

than maybe Trump. I mean, Trump says obviously he he marches to his own drummer at times.

But that we there might be a little more cooperation in Capitol Hill. There might be a little

less of the polarization. Maybe I'm just being hopeful. I don't know.
