Who makes the news?

Got respect for the BBC because they've never tried to say,

you can't do that. They tell me if it's wrong.

But there are times when I've been making calls that really hurt my bosses and that was

fruity, but I kind of enjoyed it.

That's Amal Rajan the BBC's first ever media editor. Yes we know we didn't have to go

that far to find him but genuinely he has one of the most interesting jobs here.

He does the news about the news.

Weird, but interesting.

I wanted to have a chat with him about some of the conversations we've been having as a team.

I really like your informal broadcasting style. I mean basically you sound like a normal person.

Did you have to have any broadcast training?

It's really interesting when a lot of people have said that right so there is a problem that I have and enough people,

radio for listeners in particular have said, I garble and I talk too fast and I kind of think,

you know what, I don't think they're being prejudiced I think they

genuinely trying to understand what I was saying and couldn't I have a massive

piece of paper when I go on radio for now which says on it in big letters

slow the F down.
