Hello and welcome to the Americano podcast, a series of discussions about American politics and now the Joe Biden presidency.

I'm joined today by Laura Dodsworth, who is the author of A State of Fear,

how the UK government weaponised fear during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Laura, most of your research has been on Britain and the British government

and its handling of the COVID pandemic. But you've written this article for Spectator World,

the US edition of The Spectator,

which looks at how in America and indeed all over the world,

vaccine persuasion or vaccine encouragement is teetering into vaccine coercion and emotional manipulation.

Can you tell us a little bit about what you've discovered?

Yeah, sure. I mean, the thing is it's been quite interesting to watch because we've never

done anything like this before for a previous vaccine or a previous medical intervention.

I think some people will say the ends justify the means and that can be a whole whole thing we

can talk about but

we haven't used these means before and there were particular things I saw that really alerted my

radar and I wondered what this means I decided to collect some examples and talk to public health
