Summary

With just a day until election day, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's respective campaigns continue to ramp up, with rallies and gimmicks, and even advertising on the Las Vegas Sphere. Despite this, Spectator contributor Lionel Shriver declares she is America's 'last undecided voter'. Why? Is it the candidates' characters that put her off voting for them, or the policies they represent? Lionel joins guest host, and fellow American, Kate Andrews to discuss further.

Produced by Megan McElroy and Patrick Gibbons.

struggled to decide who you're going to vote for? Because I am being given to unacceptable

choices. Actually, it's funny that the spectator recently used in a headline, the expression

1:09.3

Hobson's Choice. And I looked up the meaning of

1:13.0

Hobson's choice to decide whether to use that expression in my column. And it's not quite a

1:18.8

Hobson's choice, because a Hobson's choice is when you're being given a choice between two things,

1:25.4

or perhaps many things, that really come down to the same thing. So that it's as

1:31.4

if you are being given a choice, but it's not really a choice. You really just stuck with one

outcome. And I wouldn't say that that's true of this situation. In no way do I think that

voting for Kamala Harris is exactly the same as voting for
