Summary

In this episode of Serial Streamers, Jami recaps the Netflix docuseries American Nightmare. In 2015, a 9-1-1 call came in to the Vallejo PD. It was a man claiming that his girlfriend, Denise Huskins, had been abducted from his home by perpetrators wearing wet suits. The man, Aaron Quinn, laid out an elaborate story for detectives who did not believe him. The media dubbed it the “Gone Girl” case due to the similarities it had to the movie. Law enforcement accused Aaron and Denise of perpetrating a “Kidnapping Hoax” which may have caused them not to properly investigate the alleged crime. As it turned out, the stranger-than-fiction story was true and a suspect was identified.
