Today, five years of economic growth are raised, examining Indian matchmaking and what election polls can tell us.

We just learned that we had the biggest economic contraction that we've ever seen in 70 years of economic data.

The economy literally wiped away five years of growth.

That's painful.

I'm Heather Long, economics correspondent at the Washington Post.

Heather, you are the person that we often turn to when we were trying to figure out what is going on with the economy.

My question to you is what is going on with the economy?

It's at precipice right now.

Think about losing five years of a life.

That's rough.

But where we are today is even more scary because we thought we were getting better in June.

We were seeing those credit card sales pick up.
