Pride in being an American by political party, 2001 to 2025, a Gallup poll with surprising results.

And to help me understand this polling and the results up to date is 2025, I welcome

Dave Rose. He is a senior research fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research,

headquartered in Massachusetts. He's also the author most recently of Why Culture Matters

Most from Oxford University Press.

He's the co-founder of the American Civics Academy.

Thank you for helping me with this poll because it is stunning to me to learn that the Gen Z, which is our youngest working group right now, just coming into the marketplace,

finds that to be proud in America is a strain.

Only 41% are reporting pride in being an American citizen.

58 for millennials, our children.

71 for Gen X.

Gen X is now taking over.

Baby boomers retiring.

My class at university, all retired men.

They're happy with their grandchildren,

and they keep a hand in the law firm or the medical practice,

but mostly they wander the earth.

And they're very proud.

And then, of course, those few greatest generation are still with us.
