Gooday, humans. Something a little interesting for you this week, a little unusual.

One of the most popular and most commented on episodes of my old show, We the People Live,

out of the hundreds of shows that we did, was an uncomfortable conversation that I had,

not with a guest, but with myself.

It was an uncomfortable conversation to Australians and Americans,

mostly Americans, but it's interesting for Australians to listen in on,

about guns.

I recorded it in 2019 in August, and I had to look up which shooting it was in response to, because there were just so many.

This one was the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings, which I'm sad to say I don't even remember.

I thought it might have been the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Florida, or I thought I might

have recorded it after the Las Vegas massacre. But no, it was after those ones, El Paso and Dayton.

And now we are coming to the end of a week wherein there was another mass shooting in the United

States, coming off the heels of a range of

shootings at those beauty parlors. And I think it's time to revisit this conversation.

I won't give it any preface. I wouldn't do it exactly the same way as I did it. It's an intellectual adventure

into the thicket of my mind. So without any further ado, enjoy this unusual but definitely

uncomfortable conversation with myself. Today, a special episode, or a not so special episode, I'm not quite sure what this is,

but something I've been wanting to do for a while. And every time there's a mass shooting

in America, I think maybe I'll do it this time,

and then I lose my nerve and I release whatever episode we had planned on releasing.

But this time, I want to jump in.

Because guns in America are something that I feel like I understand pretty well,
