As the invasion of Ukraine continues, the cost of the war mounts for Russia.

The unsanctioned and financial isolation, the slow pace of war has exposed.

Russian military weakness.

Perhaps weaknesses we did not know existed.

Private businesses from Heineken to Ramesh have stopped selling in the country.

Western countries are shutting the door on Russian energy.

But at the same time, inside Russia, words like war and invasion are banned by a strict

information law.

An internal propaganda campaign featuring the letter Z, which is the Russian military

symbol of the invasion, is plastered across the country.

And polls, which we should take with a gigantic grain of salt, show widespread support for the

war.

The question is, how much of a price has Vladimir Putin paid and will he continue to pay?

I guess today's Mike McFallows, the US ambassador to Russia from 2012 to 2014.

He's a professor of international studies at Stanford.

And of course, he's a familiar face on Meet the Press ambassador.
