Hello and welcome to full disclosure, a podcast, well, mostly to allow me to spend more time than I'd ever get on the radio with people who are interesting.

And I mean, with this week's guest, Amanda Owen, also known, of course, as the Yorkshire Shepardess, it's going to be very, very hard to know where to start.

But I'll start with a strange question, Amanda, if I may.

Do you enjoy this bit of your existence?

Do you like being interviewed?

Do you like the media side of things?

Well, yes and no.

I mean, there's no straight answer to that.

Yes, of course, but you can't cherry pick.

I've sort of learned as I've gone along,

the more you do, the more you put yourself

out there, the more you leave yourself open to criticism about anything and everything.

And that can be quite difficult to cope with.

That's the dichotomy of your whole existence in a way, isn't it?

Because you have this solitary lifestyle on a, on a hill farm with an incredibly

tight family. And then you also have latterly in your life this public status. And I know you find

the word fame ridiculous, but, but you know, that you have that as well. And I struggle to see how the two can be squared.

They can't.

They can't.

And I think, I think, I suppose that's the glorious element of it.

And I think, in a way, that can almost be your undoing.
