Devon, is in his early twenties.

I think he has a certain something, as he said.

The problem is I have been a high school teacher most of my life.

This means he doesn't listen to me or my advice for two reasons now.

If you were to give an ambitious young person an essential piece of advice to launch them

into great success, what would that be?

Here is what I would tell you, Devon.

Swing early and swing hard.

When I was still a teenager, I heard how when Andrew Carnegie passed, they found a piece

of paper in his upper desk drawer with his life's written goals.

It said simply, I'm going to spend the first half of my life making as much money as possible

and the second half giving it all away.
