Hello, bienvenito.

0:17.0

Welcome one and all to a brand spakeaking new episode, fresh out the oven.

We've been cooking in la Cucina, and we've got a delicious new episode filled with flavors and spices ready for you to feast on of the low-life podcast.

I'm your flaming hot and spicy, seasonally depressed, white wine drinking, tucked finger licking, ice coffee sipping, Target overspending,

0:40.5

hot mess of a host. Loire and so on, and I'm so happy to be here with you today. There is

0:48.9

no place I'd rather be than right here in this moment with you. It's always the highlight of my

0:53.4

week getting to hang out

0:54.3

with my low lifers. This is my safe space. This is where I can go to just let it all hang out,

0:59.4

wave my freak flag, and be unapologetically myself. I hope you're having a beautiful day and a

1:05.0

great week and you're feeling good. But if you are struggling right now, if you are feeling

1:10.1

anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, if life feels a bit heavy for you in this moment and you're not the best version of yourself and you're being really hard on yourself, I get it. I've been there. I felt like I've circled the drain many times. But it's in those moments that you have to remind yourself that this is not your forever. This is just a season. This is just a moment in time. And you're going to get through this. I promise you that. It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you're swimming in the darkness. But I promise if you just take it one day at a time, hell, one hour at a time, you will get through this. I promise you that. The fact that you are here right now makes me so happy because you were doing

1:47.9

something take it one day at a time. Hell, one hour at a time. You will get through this. I promise you that.

1:44.9

The fact that you are here right now makes me so happy because you were doing something for you.

1:49.2

And oftentimes we forget to do things for ourselves. We're so busy pouring into everybody

1:54.0

else in life. We're just trying to stay afloat that we forget to take care of home base.

1:58.8

We forget to take care of ourselves. And so the fact that

2:01.1

you're here is giving yourself a win. You're doing something for you. This hour of escapism is needed for mental health. And so I'm happy to have you here, boo. I'm not in the business of wasting anybody's time. Time is the most valuable thing that we have. And so I want to make sure every time you listen to this podcast, you're getting something from it. There's some sort of a takeaway.

2:19.3

I never want you to feel like you're leaving empty handed. I recently went to therapy. And as I was talking to my therapist, she did this exercise with me. It really helped me out. It gave me some good perspective. And so I want to share it with you here on the podcast right now. This is an exercise that you can do. As long as you're not

2:34.4

driving, you can do this with me. I highly suggest you do this exercise with me right now if you're feeling depleted, if you've been really hard on yourself. If you're someone who is hypercritical of yourself, and that's definitely how I am, I'm trying to get better about it. I'm a work in progress here, but I could be really hard on me. And I know I'm not alone in that. It's funny. I remember talking to a friend one time, and she said, when you get negative comments or when people treat you like shit or say mean things to you, it seems like it doesn't affect you. It doesn't hurt your feelings. Like, how do you not get affected by that?

3:07.8

Of course, I'm not made of stone here. I get affected, but I told her, you know, it's interesting

3:13.0

because as someone who was so hard on myself, I've said some really terrible things to me.
