Hello from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd. And this is the Chuck Todd cast. So I begin

today with my what if series. As you know know I love to sort of dabble I think

somewhat one of the best ways to learn actual history is to talk about alternative

history what if scenarios butterfly effects however you want to formulate them?

As you know, I do this, this is I think my third year doing it, where we take one event that

happened and it's like what if the other had happened, what would that have done?

You know, a simple way of discussing it is what if Bill Clinton had resigned in 1998 rather than face impeachment and all of that.

And Al Gore became president in 1998.

What would happen in 2000?

And if there's a Democratic president during 9-11,

what's the response there?

You see where I'm going here.

What if Hillary Clinton decided to run in 2004?

Would Barack Obama not have run for president until 2012?

Maybe he never runs for president.

It's little things like that. Obviously, was some entire TV shows and novels have been written about what if JFK had lived. So you know I and one of my favorite shows these days is for all mankind which is the premise of what if the Soviets beat the United States to the

moon how that would have changed the course of history so it's in that spirit with which

we tackle our what ifs this year and I've got some fun what ifs that have to do with a couple of them that have to do with Donald Trump

some that have to do with the Beatles you'll enjoy that but I'm going to begin believe it or not with

college football you think here goes Chuck again him and his obsession with sports
