Hello, welcome back to Scripture Central. I'm Lynn Hilton Wilson.

I'm John Welch and I'm glad to be with you.

And we are thrilled to be talking about Alma 36, 37, and 38.

These three chapters are blessings from Alma to his first two sons, and then next week we'll talk about the third son, Corianton.

And these are some of the most cherished records that we have.

They're sort of like Alma's last words, his last will and testament,

but they're also not just a testimony of Alma, but a testimony of our Savior.

And these words, testimony of our Savior.

And these words, because of Alma's conversion, which we learned about way back in Mosiah, and we remember that as the angel appeared as Alma and the four sons of

Mosiah were making trouble.

That conversion of Jesus Christ, the angel of the Lord, it says,

and I think that's a euphemism for Jehovah himself.

It's used in the Old Testament that way when the angel of the Lord appears to Abraham

and the angel Lord comes to, even in Daniel's visions, we use Angel

Lord and it says, it was the Lord. Lehi, of course, sees God seated upon his throne,

surrounded by numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising his God.

We remember that from First Nephi chapter one. And Alma cites it in this beautiful chapter 36, even all 21 words.

And that's amazing that he now can use that, but why is he quoting that?

I think because the point that you're just raising, this is a wonderful testimony of Jehovah,

of Jesus Christ, and Alma is telling us who he had seen.

Me thought I saw even as our father Lehigh had saw.

You know, you mentioned that there are three accounts of this vision.
