I'm Jack Welch, and we are really excited to be here today.

I don't know how we can ever cover all the material in these chapters for this week's lesson.

Alma, Chapter 32, 33, and 34.

This is just a little bite to get you excited, but hopefully you'll find even more time on your own in your scripture study.

It's interesting in the original manuscript of the book of Alma.

Chapters 30 to 35 was one chapter.

It's all the 17th year of the reign of the judges.

And Alma has this wonderful opportunity now to go to teach the Zoramites.

And as Jack mentioned in the past, there's many reasons why he wants to go to the Zormites,

in addition that they need the gospel, the higher law being taught,

there's some political and logistic reasons that are very important too.

Alma is able to very sensitively recognize the needs of the, especially the poor Zoramites.

He will also talk to all of the Zoramites, but the poor Zoramites are the ones who come and listen

the most.

And so it's a very complicated situation in a different town with lots of issues.

And Alma covers the gospel

with his second witness, Amulek, in such a profound way. This is really one of the greatest

of all of Alma's sermons. Remember, the mission included these seven companions.

He's got the sons of Mosiah.

He's got two of his own sons there, as well as Zizram and Amulek.

And they're all there to preach.
