Hello, welcome back to Scripture Central. We're thrilled to be able to talk about the great book of Alma today.

I'm Lynn Hilton Wilson. I'm Jack Welch, and these chapters are amazing.

Alma 23 to 29 is our scripture study this week. We start out with Lomonai's father giving his

proclamation, and we go all the way through the group of believers

in the Lamanite communities being bonded together, having religious freedom, being killed

for their beliefs, and then moving up to live in the land of Nephi, with the Nephites,

and they give them the land of Jershon.

So that's the overview of what we're going to try to accomplish today. We hope that this motivates your own scripture study and

We don't usually spend a lot of time with some of these chapters.

So I encourage everyone to go a little slower and not just turn the pages quickly, because

there's so many details and so much development going on in these.

You can't really understand what's going to happen

in the rest of the book of Alma without seeing this dynamic.

And of course right after this, we're going to have Alma going to, with these people, going

to the city of Antionum with the Zoramite problem.

So what we have here is the beginning of religious liberty.

Of course, that had begun with the law of King Mosiah back in chapter 29 of Mosiah.

And now we have it also being introduced by Mosaic's sons.

And they adopt a version of religious liberty.
