And today is the final episode of our series, All The Only Ones.

In the first two episodes reporter and

host Lane Kaplan Levinson took us back to the first half of the 20th century.

In the 1920s and 30s when gender transition through medicine

first became possible. In the 50s and 60s when gender clinics began opening up across

the US.

Now in part three, we will go back to the 70s and 80s,

which was a time of increased visibility for trans people and increasing backlash.

Just a note before we get started, historical figures in this series are represented by actors.

The actors are reading these people's real words from letters or published writing.

We don't know the names of the patients because of laws that protect their privacy,

so we refer to them by the pseudonyms assigned by their doctors.

This episode also mentions suicide and includes profanity.
