Welcome to the naughty for nice.

I'm your host, Rob Schueter.

It is Monday, so that means our friend Garrett from Z100 is with us, Garrett.

0:20.1

Are you there?

0:55.7

Yes, Rob Shooter, awake, watched a ton of TV this weekend. A lot of news stories, learned a lot about RBC. Right, right. There's a great movie out on her. Like, I watched some movies on her. There's a documentary, too. She's, she's wild, wasn't she? She was so fantastic. Change the world. Wild in a good way. Yeah, wild in a great way. We got a ton of gossip, so let's get into it. Garrett, what time is it? It is tea time. So we're going to start on this Brad Pitt story, but I think we've got to go over the Emmys last night. Did you watch? Yes. Ooh. Yeah, it was very interesting, and I think Jimmy Kimmel summed it up perfectly at the beginning.

0:55.7

Why are we having an award show? Yes. It was very interesting, and I think Jimmy Kimmel summed it up perfectly at the beginning.

1:01.9

Why are we having an award show during a pandemic? No, seriously, I'm asking as the host. I don't even know why. Yeah, it was very, very strange. But I sort of got into it. It reminded me of we like things

1:07.4

the same way all the time. And when they change, we don't like it. So when I go into McDonald's anywhere in the world, that burger is exactly the same. And it makes me feel very comforted and very at home. So turning on the Emmys and seeing the changes at first, I didn't even know if I was going to stick with it. I'm on TV this morning talking about them, so I had to watch it. But you know what? After about half hour, I sort of really got into it.

1:29.9

Let's go through it. Before we get to the Emmys, let's talk a little bit about the fashion, because I know what a fashion needs to do. You are, Garrett. So this was tricky for celebrities. They were at home. Their stylists were still pulling clothes for them. I was told actually there's not a lot of choices out there. So whenever there's

1:45.2

an award show, all the stylists are really grabbing the same clothes for their celebrities. But a lot of

1:50.8

the fashion... And cutting it differently and saying, you know, look at my. A lot of the fashion houses

1:54.1

are closed down because of the COVIDs. There's not that many new dresses out there for celebrities

1:58.8

to wear. So I think a lot of people sort of pulled something

2:01.7

out of their closet. Were you disappointed when we cut to their homes and they weren't in ball gowns?

2:06.5

What would have you wore, Garrett? Would have you gone full on, full on award show or would you

2:10.4

been in your pajamas? No, I would, you have to be in pajamas. The thing I've learned is that people

2:16.7

can relate more when you're like

2:18.1

them. You know what I mean? So when you, when we, you and I look at someone like Jennifer Aniston and she's in a dress. I get it. She's a list celebrity. But you want to feel like she's like one of you. Right. No, absolutely. I was a little bit disappointed. More of them weren't at home with their kids or their dogs or on their couches,

2:34.2

I think Rachel Brosnahan, from the mar Mrs. Maisel, did the best job sitting on the couch with her friends. She looked like she had some Chinese food on that table and she had a dog is there. Let me explain. Like, I would love to see a delivery guy. Like, just like pull up, you know, like, where's the winner? Oh, seamless is here. At the home with their friends. I wanted to pretend that they had invited me to their Emmy party, which a lot of them didn't really do. It all felt a little bit staged. Let me explain. Except for shit's crazy. That's right. Well, they threw their own party, didn't they? So what's, sorry. Rob Schuette, you got to think, they had to have known how much they were going to win. They knew they were the favorites. I asked 10 people at the Emmys, including the big bosses over there. I was like, come on, did they know? Because most awards shows, you sort of know. Kind of, like you show up, you win. Especially if it's like the MTV Award, sorry MTV, but everybody there won. And so when I was a publicist, I sort of, they told me most of the times who was going to win.

3:27.9

I'm told at the Emmys they did not know.
