Welcome to our daily rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today is the feast of all souls.

The day we are reminded that our family and friends in purgatory need our help to reach heaven.

Sadly, though, the souls in purgatory don't receive the help they need because many people

don't believe in purgatory.

But Jesus teaches about purgatory.

In the gospel of Matthew chapter 5, he said,

make friends quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court,

lest your accuser hand you over to the judge and the judge to the guard,

and you be put in prison. Truly, I say to you,

you will never get out to you have paid the last penny. Well, what is the price of sin that Jesus is

talking about, this last penny? There is a twofold consequence of sin. Grave sin deprives us of communion with God,

therefore makes us incapable of eternal life. Jesus removes that with baptism or later with

confession. The second consequence of sin is a disordered attachment to the things of this world,

which manifests itself in the deadly sins of pride,

vain ambition, envy, sloth, anger, greed, gluttony, and lust.

These prevent us from the complete union with God in heaven.

We should strive to remove these vices in this life,
