Summary

This week on Cohosts for Life, we talk about being in a season where friends are moving out of the city, buying homes, and stepping into new phases of life, while we’re still in New York figuring out what comes next. We unpack how friendships change with distance, how to stay close when you no longer share a zip code, and the mix of sadness and excitement that comes with watching people move on. Plus, adult hobbies, major gratitude, a big career update for Ilana, race sign-ups chaos, and more.

I was thinking, though, as I was making my coffee, I do think I am my own worst enemy sometimes

0:05.9

because I'm going to be complaining that I can't fall asleep tonight.

0:09.7

And it's 5.30. Have you ever tried not drinking coffee so late? I like your nails, by the way.

0:15.0

I like these much more than the red ones.

0:16.4

Thank you. Really?

0:18.3

Yeah.

0:18.7

I was very torn and I sent Jake a picture of, or two pictures of nail options for Valentine's

0:25.9

Day anniversary month.

0:27.7

Right, Jake?

0:28.9

It's our, it's our what anniversary?

0:30.9

Yeah.

0:31.9

Yeah.

0:32.9

Yeah.

I wanted to do something like cute for Valentine's Day, but I always get like light pink or very light or like white anyway. So I was thinking, okay, maybe I'll do dark red. And I went in there with a mission to do dark red. And then I just looked up like Valentine's Day nails and I saw all these really cute designs and I never get nail art. I was like, shit, I think I might have to. So I ended up being really torn going back and forth a million times. I like that. It's just a few of the nails. Yeah. So I ended up going with light pink. And then on my two ring fingers, there are two tiny hearts in red. And I'm really, really happy with it. So thank you for noticing, Jake.

Do what we can out here.

1:14.1

But no, I don't usually, I, A, I don't drink coffee every day.

1:18.3

Like if I wanted to go a week without coffee, that'd be no issue whatsoever.

1:24.1

But I only drink a second coffee if I have a good week challenge. But it's not a challenge. That's not a challenge for me. I don't know. I see you drink a decent amount of coffee, I feel like. Yeah, it's like routine. And like sometimes I like it and sometimes it helps. But I don't think it's why I'm staying up because I don't do this every day. I've been saying I've been saying I think you wake up so

1:44.5

late that your schedule is later. That makes sense. Like the week where I wake up at like

1:51.8

sometime between 7, 7.30, I am like so ready for bad by 10.30. Should I do? I know originally

1:59.4

we wanted to do for our one week of our 20 week challenge, 5.30 a.m. wakeups. But should I be realistic? Should I do like 7.30 a.m. wakeups next week? Yeah, for you. Yeah. That's a good one. I'll be my challenge. Guys, welcome back to seeing other people. Welcome back to Co-Fs for Life. I'm Alana. I'm Jake. And if you are joining us for the first time, hi. This is a Dating and Relationships podcast. But today, Monday is our co-host for Life episode where Jake and I talk about what's going on in our marriage, in our lives, in our coffees and our routines. So thank you for being here. We are so happy to have you. And every week you get something different, or every day you get something different, and every week you get something different. We want to talk about today. We'll give you guys challenge updates. We're going to get through our gratitude, which we pre-planned today, hopefully. Jake was taking a shower before this. I told him to think about it in the shower.
