Here are your Washington headlines of the day.

Number one, 12 days and counting until the government runs out of money. Now what? Number two is senator sponsoring a bill

attacking credit cards, cut an ad paid for by an outside group. And number three, Senate Republicans

2025 China plan. All right, Jake, let's get into it. All eyes are on Speaker Mike Johnson

and his next funding move. It's interesting. Let's just take a step back. At the outset of September,

House Republicans told us they were going to spend the weeks before the election dividing

Democrats and uniting the GOP. We have not seen that happen.

Speaker Johnson forced a vote on a six-month CR with the SAVE Act, a vote that failed badly on the House floor Wednesday night.

And Speaker Mike Johnson has not yet signaled what the next move is going to be.

We are just 12 days before a potential government shutdown, Jake.

Yeah, as we said yesterday, failure was a choice here, right?
