In the wake of recent news stories about UFOs and UAPs,

several podcasts and channels that I follow were dipping their toes into the debate over aliens,

whether they exist, whether we've been visited by them and so on.

I'm basically agnostic about the subject, so I was interested.

The first long form podcast that I heard on the subject was on Jimmy Aiken's mysterious world,

which had posted a conversation between Jimmy, Cameron Bertuzzi, and Tyler McNabb,

which had originally happened over on capturing Christianity.

And it was a great conversation. Jimmy Aiken, whose our guest today,

was extremely knowledgeable, and his contributions he was cautious, thorough,

he anticipated a lot of objections and steel manned them, and it was overall a really great

conversation. Then I started listening to some other podcasts and YouTube channels that were

also covering the same stories, and I realized that the bar had been set a little bit high.

The same degree of quality was not met on these other shows.

Frustratingly, I heard the same objections trotted out over and over again as if UFO believers

had never heard them and had no response at all to them. So I thought we could hopefully improve

the quality of the discourse by helping to advance it past those initial thoughts that are

pretty commonly offered. So we'll be addressing 10 very common objections, talking points, etc.

that are offered by skeptics, and hopefully they will take this into account going forward and

become better skeptics, actually understanding the position they're criticizing,
