All right, welcome to TALKY'S CHERICOO. This is the part of Thunder and Rock and Roll.

And the big news over the last week or so is the announcement of the Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor.

Boxing match, one of the biggest matches of all time. But before that, before MMA at all,

there was the boxing match, the boxer versus wrestler match, that basically invented sports entertainment and was the dawn of MMA.

I'm talking about Muhammad Ali versus Antonio Nokey on June 26, 1976 at the Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

We were just days away from the 41st anniversary of the legendary match.

And that's why I've got sports journalists and author Josh Gross on the show today.

Josh wrote the book Ali versus Nokey, the forgotten fight that inspired mixed martial arts and launched sports entertainment.

And in depth, look, the famous fight is now available on Amazon.

.com now. I read the book a few months ago. Very, very well done. It's an amazing, interesting, riveting story.

Josh is going to tell us all about it. Share some of the fascinating details he uncovered while doing research for the book, including Vincerec Man's role in the fight, the original finish, and why it changed, why fans and critics hated it at the time.

But before we get to Ali versus Nokey, what a great story this is. I've only got a couple matches left with the WWE now.

Right now, we're going to finish up this run officially. I'm headed to Singapore, June 28th, then on to Japan, Tokyo.

I love Japan, Rogoku, Sumo Arena, doing a couple shows, June 30th and July 1st. And then who knows, I'm going to be back in the WWE.

You never know with Chris Jericho. I could be there July 2nd. It might be an until next year, who knows.

I'm doing a lot of the stuff. Just finished the show for the travel channel based on the searching for the hidden gold of which Cassidy, I'll tell you when that's going to drop.

And I'm doing some more shows with Fuzzy. I got other stuff to record and film. It's going to be a really busy summer for Chris Jericho as well as some great family time.

But we are doing another Fuzzy shows, Pain in the Grass tomorrow in Seattle at the White River Ampitheater.
