I'm Molly Boygan, tech and innovation reporter at Automotive News. My guest today is Ali Connie, VP of Automotive at Invidia, whom I spoke to inside of a moving

Nvidia-powered Level 2 autonomous vehicle. We spoke about how Nvidia's automotive strategy revolves

around three computers and why he's not sweating it if customers don't end up using all three.

We have customers like Tesla who says to us, we don't need any of your help for the chip in the car, the operating system or the models in the car. We got that. But I need your help for training. But first, let's talk about the week. For that, I'm joined by my colleague on the other side of the microphone, Jake Neer, who leads our podcast operations here at Automotive News. Hi, Jake.

Hey, Molly. It's been a busy week, especially for you, it sounds like.

Yes, it has been a busy week. So I am in San Jose, California, in the heat wave for Nvidia GTC, the big AI conference here.

And yeah, it's been, it's been an interesting week of catching up with all the different automotive folks at Nvidia and learning

more about what the company's up to. Sounds great. And I would love to be in that San Jose weather,

whether it's a heat wave or not sitting here in Michigan. Yes, very true. I should

not complain. All right. So it was really interesting hearing some of your conversations from

Nvidia GTC this week, especially, you know, you actually got a question in to Jensen Huang,

NVIDIA's CEO about the automotive industry as an end market, despite

it making up only 1% of the company's revenue. We played a little bit of that. In fact, we played

his response, his extensive response to your question on Daily Drive this week, the Daily Drive

podcast, for those of you who don't know, another one that we do

here at Automotive News. But what did you learn from his response to that question? Because it was a good

one is like, okay, you're only spending, you're only getting like 1% of revenue. Why are you still so

gung ho about automotive? Yes, and he is gung ho about automotive and the company is gung ho about

automotive.

Earlier that day, a reporter had asked him what problem he was most excited for AI to solve,

and he said autonomous vehicles.
