In the 1983 film Scarface, Al Pacino plays Tony Montana, a man who comes to America with nothing,

and decides that nothing is not enough.

Montana claws his way to the top of Miami's underworld with the kind of hunger that devours everything in its path.

Money, power, women, status.

But the higher Tony climbs, the more dangerous his world becomes, until at the peak of his empire,

it all comes crashing down in a storm of bullets and rage.

Forty years later, another man would make Tony Montana his idol.

Ali Abulaban, known online as Gin Kid, was not a drug lord. He was a social media star, famous for his

Tony Montana impressions. Abulabon wore the suits, gold chains, the attitude, performing the part of a man

intoxicated by power and attention.

But the act did not stop when the cameras did.

Behind the screen, Aboulaban's obsession with fame and control, his temper, his jealousy, his

need to be the center of the story, all spiraled into real-life

violence. In October 2021, that obsession left two people dead, his estranged wife Anna and her friend Ray. Like Tony Montana, Abu-a-Ban

could not stand the idea of losing the empire he thought he built. But unlike a

Hollywood movie, there was no final shootout.

Just a man who mistook imitation for identity and destroyed everything he loved in the process.
