Hey y'all. Happy Saturday. It has been a week. It has been a week. It has been a

week. It has been a year, actually, if I'm'm being honest and I just wanted to come on here and just have a little chat just maybe a little rant since I'm actually talking to myself right now in the closet.

But there's a couple of things that's really and truly'm in a lot of

I'm in a lot of grief,

and I'm in a lot of grief right now

because of black lives being taken from this earth.

As a black woman married to a black man who has three black daughters.

Shit is scary. I'm going to be honest with you and I am so tired.

I am so overstimulated and I am trying my best to figure out how to rest and also take action steps to provide support to my community.

And I just feel like I don't know what to do. There's a lot of feelings of hopelessness but but even in that. I'm trying to stand tall and I'm trying to show up.

Something that's been really, uh... really unnerving for me is the performative posting and activism happening on social media.

There are so many amazing activists doing this work on the ground.

Rachel Cargill, Brittany Packn, D. Ray McKesson, to name a few, okay, to name a few. And it seems as though folks are using social media as this buffer between actually doing the work and trying to show

that they're doing the work online, right?

So actually doing the work is relative.

People do and show up in different ways.

But what I think is really important to understand

is posting a Black Square on social media

is not

activism. You posting that and then deciding,

you know, that's it. That's not activism.

I see a lot of brands doing it. I see a lot of folks thinking that that's, you know, enough and maybe it's because it's like if you don't say something you damned if you do you damned if you don't right and
