I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon,

a 27-year veteran of the NYPD. Tonight we have a really interesting show. And if you've been following

the Alec Murdoch trial, who is on trial for killing his son, Paul, and his wife, Maggie.

And it's really interesting because there's, it's rare that a murder defendant,

a homicide defendant, gets on the stand on his own behalf and requested, of course,

the defense has to okay that.

And his attorney's apparently okayed it,

or he put so much pressure on them to testify that they could not tell him no.

However, it also could be a sign of desperation.

Did his attorneys think that this case, this trial was going poorly for the defense?

And as such, said the only thing we can do now is to have you testify.

And he's been on the stand.

And whatever you think of Alec Murdoch, one thing that's very clear, he's a very intelligent man.

He, in fact, is an attorney.

But he comes across as a man that does have a drug problem.

You think that that's how he wants to come across?

Because that's part of his defense, that he was always high on oxycodone,

which was his drug of choice for apparently over 20 years.
