0:00.0 | Hey, this is John Gordon with Positive You. And today, my guest is Alex Demchak. |
0:14.0 | Alex, how are you doing? |
0:15.0 | John, I'm doing great. Thanks for having me. |
0:17.0 | I feel like I'm the biggest positive you podcast fan in the country. So thanks for having me on your show. |
0:22.0 | Well, you're also my co-author of the sale. |
0:25.0 | And you learned a lot about writing and publishing during that time. And I want this podcast to be about writing and publishing because so many people want to write a book. |
0:37.0 | They feel like they have a book in them. They want to write a book. They want to publish a book, but they have no idea how to do it. |
0:43.0 | And you now have become an expert in that. Since we've written this book together, you've taken that experience and knowledge and you have started a company. |
0:51.0 | Talk about the company that you started and why you started it. |
0:55.0 | Yeah, John, I've learned so many things from you over the years and writing books, speaking and publishing. And so streamline books are company. |
1:01.0 | We help people write, edit, and publish their book in a 16 week process. And like you mentioned, when you get into writing a book for the first time, there's so many things to learn. |
1:11.0 | And so co-authoring the sale with you, I just kind of, I was a sponge. I was just getting a wealth of knowledge from all the 25, 26, I guess 27 books that you have now. |
1:21.0 | And so, yeah, for people out there that haven't, maybe they have some of their book already written or they want to write a book. |
1:27.0 | That's why we created this company to help share more stories. Our world is full of news and it's like, how can we help people share their message and their story with the world? |
1:37.0 | Because when they step out of their comfort zone and do that, it leads to really cool things like speaking engagements or all kinds of other things in their lives. |
1:45.0 | And so that's, that's kind of why we started. I co-founded it with my co-founder, Will Severns. And it's been just so fun to help people share their message with the world. |
1:53.0 | So streamline books. So people come to you. Let's take someone, for example, they come to you, they have an idea for a book, but they haven't written yet. |
2:03.0 | They can't write it themselves. At least they feel like they can't. I believe they can. But let's just say they feel like they can't. What do you do with them? Let's take us, take us through this process. |
2:12.0 | Yes, we have a few different options, but the first option and everything is done in the 16 week process. And John, just like I know for you, you usually crank out your books in a short amount of time, which is awesome. |
2:23.0 | And so a lot of people out there in the world, they're thinking, I want to write a book someday or I've had this dream for maybe years to write a book. And for us, we feel like in a 16 week process, there's just that accountability. |
2:35.0 | There's that, you know, when you sign up for a marathon, what are you doing the next day? You're going to probably start training, you know, once you pay the deposit. And so for someone who's going, you know what, I, I enjoy writing. |
2:46.0 | You know, our first option is for someone who's saying in that 16 week process, they want to lead the way writing. And then one of our editors and developmental editors will trail them in the document. And then at the end of the process, we get all the cover design and we get it published. |
