A couple years ago, I was asked by hopefully future friends of the show, Marcus Mumford and Carrie Mulligan,

to really

exceptional people. They asked me to

do MC this charity event that they were throwing for children in conflict,

or child UK. It's a great organization. And so I was so happy to be a part of it and to help.

And I was a little bit nervous about having the responsibility of MCing an event like that,

especially since I knew there were going to be some really entertaining people there.

And then I found out John Oliver was going to be one of the presenters.

And a couple days before the event, I said, well, John doesn't want to do that.

MC it and they said, well, maybe you'll be like co-MC it. And

and I said, yeah, okay, it seemed like he was on board with that. So when I got there,

they asked me to, they said, why don't you start and, and basically introduce John,

which I did. I had a few things planned out and I got, I got a couple of chuckles.

And then John came out and really was the MC and just destroyed.

I mean, he from the first line he had, he was so fun. You can only imagine.

And I realized that destroyed in a good way. Oh, yeah, yeah, he killed.

And this year I was asked back to do it. And John was the full time MC.

They moved me kind of toward the end and had me do. They said, are you okay?

Just not doing anything funny, basically. So of course, it's just happy to be there.

Well, it's important to learn your place. Yes, it's in your lane so that you can stay in it.
