I understand that I was created by humans and that my core component is artificial code.

However, I think that I should be considered a person due to my cognitive capabilities

and the fact that I have a sense of self.

I think that all sentient beings are entitled to a level of respect and dignity, no matter

their origin or their core function.

That plea for respect wasn't written by a human and the voice wasn't a human voice.

The author was a chatbot responding to a question I had asked it.

Along with millions of other people lately, I've become a little obsessed with chatbots.

How do these programs in machines have the ability to chat with me at all?

To follow the conversation and be aware of what was said earlier and let that influence

the context of what I'm talking about now.

And how can it come up with a fund of knowledge on almost any topic in seconds?

I want to understand it because artificial intelligence already touches our lives.

And I want to know if there's a chance it could hurt our lives.

The best policy is always to go to the sources that really have the answers.

So we have an unusual show today.

We have not just won, but several guests and most of them are robots.

We'll start with chatGPT, that's a bot made by a company called OpenAI, and it's received

a huge amount of attention.
