My guest today is Dr. Brianna Jackson.

Brianna Jackson is a recent graduate from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University.

Her research focuses on Atenism, specifically the many temples that Akanaten

commissioned. As you can imagine, this overlaps quite nicely with our recent episodes.

So I sat down with Dr. Jackson to discuss her work and her new qualification.

Brianna completed her PhD in May 2021 with a thesis titled The Geographic and Social Spread of the

Atencult through Egypt and Sudan, and her PhD was just awarded at the time we are speaking.

So, we have a new discussion with a brand-new scholar who is exploring an exciting part of

Hi, thank you for having me. It's really wonderful to join you.

Great. How are things going? Where are you at the moment and what's life like?

I'm in the Bronx, New York City. So we're still in kind of a quarantine here in New York, so there's not really much going on.

And all my family lives in the Chicago area, so it's just little me over here by myself.

That's okay.

So for those, you know, for my audience, you've done the amazing thing of completing your PhD

dissertation in the middle of the lockdowns and everything that went on through 2020.

And, you know, for those who aren't familiar, you literally just graduated.
