Hello everybody, welcome to Redmond TV. This is your latest of our series on Andy Robertson,

paying tribute to the Liverpool legend. I'm delighted to be joined by Aidan Connolly, a lad that knows him very, very well. First off Aidan, how are you, mate? I'm all good, mate. I'm all good. I'm pleasure to be here. Top man, thanks so much for joining me, looking forward to this one. We've had a few different perspectives now. Some of his former Liverpool coaches, a couple of his former Liverpool teammates have spoken about him. But your relationship, connection, link goes much, much further back than we've experienced. So I'm really looking forward to this conversation. Because you'll be able to tell us better, obviously, but you were together at Queen's Park. You played against each other at school level as well, and then you signed together on the same day for Dundee United.

So the start of Andy Robinson's journey, if you like, was literally aligned with you and you're up bringing.

It must just be, you know, a pleasure to have spent that time with him, but it is quite bizarre to think

of what happened next, I guess.

Aye, it's so surreal.

You never, I knew Andy Robertson when he had wee curly hair and you would never recognise

him he was a different person back then.

No, it's crazy to think that, like, so me and Andy, he went to St. Ninthians, which was a Catholic school and I was at Williamwood, which is a kind of Protestant school. We always used to play against each other through the years and he used to play right wing. He was actually a right winger when he was playing for them, which is, I know, I know, it's crazy, he used to play in the wing and he was always a good player

but as soon as he went to refback

that's when he was just

we used to go up to

and he used to just honestly he would just charge the way he's just constant energy I just think my head how might have I going to beat him what he's just constantly just doesn't ever stop Jerusalem money but no it's he's he's got a good family behind him and I think that's why he's such a good character and such a good person from today's through the family that he's got behind him. Yeah, absolutely that. Yeah, take us back to them times. Obviously, you mentioned there doing preseason and stuff like that with him. And obviously, you know, you're both teenagers when you get that move to Dundee. It's a big move for both of you. take us back to what he was like back then because i've seen some stories that you've told before about

your trips and your battered up car and some of the conversations he used to have. And obviously, he was rejected by Celtic and under 15. So it feels, though, obviously we all know about that viral tweet. It feels though at one point he might have been contemplating knocking the footy stuff or the dreams and the ambitions of making it, knocking it on the head a little bit. My memory is when we were young, so we were at Queen's Party guy through probably like three or four years through the ages and back then it used to be, so there was two in 19s team and A and a B B team so the A team was obviously the better team

in the B

and me and Andy with a B team and it was just typical of Andy to just like I never bothered him he came for Celtic he's also had that knock back and then he goes to Queen's Park and he's in the B team who somebody always thinks was better than him and he just always seemed to
