0:00.0	Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101. Today we're going to discuss a question that often
0:12.1	arises with regard to the doctrine of salvation, and that is the age of accountability. And this can
0:19.1	oftentimes be associated with the question with regard to infants who
0:23.6	parish or those who are aborted or there's a miscarriage. And so that can be a very heavy topic.
0:29.6	And this is probably not the best video if you're tuning in for that particular issue because this is going to be really
0:35.6	approach for more the theological side of
0:38.2	things and looking at some of the different verses related to this topic. And so if you've lost
0:43.5	a loved one or if you're struggling with that emotionally, obviously the best source of
0:50.0	comfort is through the scriptures, through prayer, through your local body, through your local church.
0:56.1	This is giving the hard theological answers to the questions as they arise. And this issue of
1:03.3	the age of accountability really dives into the concept and idea of the nature of man.
1:08.6	How are we made? What is the effect of the fall upon us? And what are
1:13.2	some of the different theological takes on this within the spectrum that we have on satirology,
1:17.9	within Southern Baptist world, within the differences between Calvinists and Armenians and
1:22.4	provisionists? I will say right up front, most of us as pastors and theologians land in the same virtual camp that God does show mercy and save infants who die before they reach a true age of maturity.
1:38.0	There's questions about when that age might be.
1:40.1	But we're going to go over that.
1:41.3	We're going to listen to some other theologians that give their opinions and kind of talk through that and see the consistency of that based upon our anthropology, our belief in the nature of man.
1:52.0	And hopefully you'll get some good clarity as to how you can approach this subject theologically as well. But I wanted to point out on the website there at Sociology 101,
